DrFoodie's Dessert Pizza - So Good You'll Never Know the Difference!

I really wish pizza parlors would modify their dessert pizzas, so we could enjoy some too.  There's nothing more of a bummer than when my gluten free kids eat at a pizza buffet, and then have to walk right by the delicious looking dessert pizzas!
We counteract that with homemade pizza night of our own, complete with dessert pizza....modified of COURSE for health and a better functional food balance.  Here's how it goes...
DrFoodie's Dessert Pizza
Homemade crust, or ready made gluten free crust.  You can use my sourdough crust, or my gluten free pizza crust (which is the one I used here).
The filling:
3 apples, peeled, sliced, and de-seeded
Boil the apples in 1/2 c apple juice or water.
1 tsp cinnamon
Boil until soft.  Spoon the apples onto the crust.  Reserve any leftover juice.
The topping:
1/2 c almond meal
1/4 c coconut flour
1/2 c pecans
3 Tbsp butter or coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
5 Tbsp coconut sugar
Pulverize together in a food processor.
Sprinkle on top of the apples.
I like to drizzle the reserved juice from boiling the apples, along with a drizzle of honey on top, then sprinkle with a few slivered almonds.
Bake at 425 for 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
